The Sound Of Silence!
"Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away."

"He makes me to lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters,
he restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his
name's sake." Psalm 23:2-3
"He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth; he breaks the bow and shatters
the spear, he burns the shields with fire. 'Be still and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'"
Psalm 46:10
"This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: 'In
repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your
strength...'" Isaiah 30:15
Has your home ever lost its electricity in the middle of the night, and you
find yourself suddenly awoken and startled by the sound of silence? It's
almost deafening! The absence of noise, in itself, emanates a quietness that
gains the immediate attention of those in its environment.
I'm often asked, "Paul, how do you hear and know the Voice of God?"
The Lord once said this to me..."Don't complicate My Word. Declaring Covenant
should be so simple to comprehend that little children and the Ph.D. can
easily grasp its meaning. In plain terms, keep it simple!"
In answering what amounts to a sensible question of discerning God's Voice, I
usually relate that discerning the Lord's heart is as easy as taking your
next breath. The process is automatic, since people were made in the
Creator's likeness and image to do just that, with a built-in Radar System,
which readily receives what is dispatched from Heaven's Headquarters.
God, more often than not, speaks in stillness, quietness and confidence,
while we meditate on His promises and spend quality time in the Throne Room.
Let His peace, our Umpire, be the deciding factor of the heart. In this
system, leaning not unto one's own understanding remains paramount, since
there's a way that seems right unto man, but leads to destruction. Besides
all that, you and I were created to be recipients of His Love, Light and
Life, as we keep the Father company. That's right! The Church was established
for intimacy and ongoing relationship with Him. Never forget Dad's
established Glory to Glory progression...intimacy, revelation, incubation and
manifestation, in that precise order. Even the suddenlies require seasons of
gestation, meditation on the Word, and fellowship with the Father. So, we
must lean heavily on His inherent patience, a fruit of the Spirit.
There's nothing complicated about the Word, particularly when we enjoy a
Teacher, the Holy Spirit, Who was freely sent to "take the things of Mine and
reveal them unto you." Additionally, He resides on the inside of each
Believer as a Comforter, Standby, Guide, Initiator and Protector, to name a
few of His numerous titles and associated duties. The Christian's prosperity
and success, in all pertaining to life and godliness, are primarily His
responsibility, although it is our duty to study the Word and seek His face.
Without an impartation of Light, one cannot proceed ahead. The Believer must
enjoy an "always having" mentality and walk. No good thing will be withheld,
as we venture forward with Him.
"What if I journey off course?" Well, the Word also tells us that there will
be a Voice behind the Children, saying, "This is the way. Walk ye in it."
Midcourse corrections are part of our Glory to Glory journey. If the
Revelator has to awaken us fifty times a night, for the purpose of instilling
God's plan, He'll do just that. We aren't to fear a rock for a loaf of bread.
You and I haven't been commissioned to miss the mark, walk alone, or enter
into any war at our own expense. Dad perpetually watches over His Word to
confirm and perform "that which is written." The Holy Spirit is His Courier
to us.
While traveling through a certain city, the Lord asked this question. "Paul,
where do you think much of the world's depression originates? What alters the
body's chemistry and consequently triggers this disorder?"
I pondered that query for a moment. Nevertheless, His answer arrived as
quickly as the question was posed. "For lack of vision, or by ignoring
revelation, people faint and perish, become emotionally and physically sick.
So many have heard My Word, received personal dreams, visions and other
components of destiny. However, because of time and the lies of Satan, some
doubted what, according to them, was perceived as too good to be true. Some
convinced themselves, with a little help from the enemy, that they were not
worthy and had somehow missed it. Immediately, the bluffer came to steal and
destroy the Seed. By questioning and denying Heaven's Voice, anxiety and
depression expediently followed."
God's explanation blew me away! I can only speak for myself, but am firmly
convinced that Paul Gervais really becomes down, out, anxious and discouraged
whenever he departs from the Master's Sound of Silence, that still, small
Voice...the Motivator's nudgings and promptings. When being negligent in that
area, often substituting the counterfeit for Heaven's Truth, despondency and
despair swiftly gain entrance; and it's not a good situation or feeling.
Soon, a discovery is made that I'm spending less time with the Author and
Finisher of my faith, while walking in the natural realm of logic and senses,
trying to figure out situations and circumstances with a carnal mindset that
isn't geared for comprehending the task of taking up one's cross and
following Him.
The Church must begin doubting doubts and believing beliefs. Try that for
yourself! Notice how joy and peace replace hopelessness and fear, as the
baby, God's vision, comes alive and leaps on the inside of the spirit's womb.
You then walk with a spring in your step and a promise in that heart! After
all, man cannot live by natural bread alone, but by every word that proceeds
from the mouth of God.
Having our being in the supernatural realm is what's natural and comfortable
for humanity. It's a "feel right" place to be, where the Third Person of the
Trinity thrives and functions best, as well as relates and resonates. You and
I were fashioned to effectively operate within that environment. It's truly
where we belong and how the Family can flourish well. Like a glove that fits
perfectly, this locale, dissimilar to any other on this planet, promotes the
greatest sense of well-being.
Rarely will a Spirit-led individual remain anxious and depressed. Most are
loaded with excitement and enthusiasm, calling those things which be not as
though they were, until each becomes!
Heaven's Newness!
"Beloved, when Peter was asked about Jesus' true identity, a revelation was
instantly provided by Truth, Himself. Have I not promised full sufficiency in
everything pertaining to life and godliness, an always having position in the
Kingdom? Understand what's most important to Me. Just as I was glorified
through the Savior's yieldedness and obedience, such will be the case with
the Youngsters, as quality decisions are rendered to surrender all and take
up that proverbial cross, which invariably leads to Resurrection Life, an
awesome manifestation of the Sons and Daughters of Glory. Death always
precedes life. Are you ready for that depression and anxiety to flee? Embrace
the Word, and continue incubating what was revealed during those precious
moments in the Throne Room, Our quiet times together, when the Encourager
laid out Heaven's blueprint, the very destiny for which you were created and
also sent. I fully understand your apprehension, but have called the Elect to
a new way of thinking and acting. It's out with the old and in with the new.
There's no room in the Grande Finale for despair and defeat, only victory and
identity. Indeed, doubts are to be doubted. Believe those peace imparting
beliefs, ideas, thoughts, dreams and other revelations that don't go away.
Does the vision glorify Me? Will it ultimately bless people? Is that
unveiling in agreement with the Word, and does it seem foolish to the world?
Have you been criticized for being pregnant and carrying an unseen baby?
Well, if you've answered in the affirmative to each question, keep going! The
vision is speaking and will not always tarry. Denying faith and destiny will
lead to fainting, since there is no Plan B, or acceptable second option.
Listen attentively to the Sound of Silence, that quietness and peace. Did I
not trust Him (the Holy Spirit), two-thousand year ago? Was He ever a second
late? No! Oh, if you could only comprehend how dedicated the Spirit of Truth
is to everything touching your life and ministry. This is a day of new
beginnings. Lay aside all weights and sin-consciousness. We have a lot to do
in dispensing the Glory to a waiting and hungering world. I know how to place
a smile on that face. For the record, you were created for just that...to
smile!"
