Does Hell Know Your Name?

'"See, it is I who created the blacksmith who fans the coals into flames and forges a weapon fit for its work. And it is I who created the destroyer to work havoc; no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,' declares the Lord." Isaiah 54:16-17

"Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are, yet was without sin." Hebrews 4:14-15

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God." 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Los Angeles, California

Have you ever thought of what it would actually be like, if we were able to literally see into the souls of people? I often ponder that issue. Without question, scars and shreddings, both old and new, would cause many of us to wrap our arms around the wounded, wanting nothing more than to comfort and heal the brokenhearted. Like a dutiful parent rushing to the rescue of an injured child, we'd recognize the urgency of the moment, while laying aside personal issues in favor of that situation.

Understand this important point. You and I were not born with compassion. However, being made in the likeness and image of God, the potential was present to be transformed into His very image by the precious Holy Spirit. Much of that compassionate potential was transposed at the New Birth, but, for the most part, it arrived by way of experience. In other words, personal wounds have given humanity a better understanding and empathic ability to enter into the sufferings of those who so much need a touch from Heaven.

The Lord ever so clearly spoke to my heart recently. "Make no mistake about it! Hell knows your name. I hear Satan's moans and groans, upon your awakening each morning. He clearly fears the Word in that spirit, and is initially frightened over the Christian's ability to hear and obey. So, he does all within his limited and perverted power to derail the Flock through the cares of this world and deceitfulness of riches, influence, power and prestige...the temporal and perishable.

Not long ago, the Holy Spirit also related, "Former regions of attack and weakness will become current and future realms of strength and anointing." That revelatory word brought so much comfort to my heart. It sort of makes temporary trials worth their time and suffering.

Redemptive suffering is a part of our walk with Christ. No, the Bride wasn't created to live in pain. Yet, you and I are only as good as our experiences, which remains the reason why the Savior had to be touched by the feeling of our infirmities, having been tempted, or tested, in all points, like as we, yet without sin. The Risen One knows fully well what you're going through, and that's the real key to the matter... the word "through!" Hell can't survive the Believer's resistance. Know that!

There was a dual purpose for Jesus' agony and associated temptation. Even in the Garden of Gethsemane and on that cruel cross, Christ felt the challenge and an unquestionable pulling between sacrifice and Deity. In a heartbeat, the Man could have called down a myriad of angels, a rescue squad, if you will, which would have saved Him and, if desired, wiped out all enemies. In spite of that opportunity, the Son chose obedience rather than retaliation.

The Trinity had made a quality decision from the beginning, to settle the sin issue, once and for all, and pay the ultimate of prices. On that trying day, the Cleanest of all creation bore the totality of negativity...sin, sickness, poverty, death, oppression of every form, and became dirty, so the Church might enjoy the Father's righteousness and become part of the Family.

The shock of that endeavor was beyond imagination. Like acid to flesh, Christ permitted the process, as the Father turned His back on what had to be a sweet and sour moment from redemption's vantage point...the worst and best day in history.

I'll not forget sitting across from a pastor who had four beautiful daughters. Grinning from ear to ear, his comment went something like this, "I haven't had a speed bump in all of my life. The children have never given us any real difficulty. Their grades are great, and there are no behavioral problems. Everything is well."

I'm grateful you weren't on the inside of my mind, back then. Some contemplations can be shared, though. First of all, I wondered what planet he had come from. Secondly, there was a scanning of this soul, a sense of temporary paralysis, since for a moment, the enemy was able transfer a twinge of guilt and helplessness. Where had I gone wrong? Is this the "norm" for society?

Well, thankfully, the Holy Spirit was also listening to that well intentioned, but likely forgetful man. Perhaps he was speaking by faith, "calling those things which be not as though they were, until each becomes." It didn't take me long to conclude an absence of realty over this brother's wishful perception of perfection.

This is what the Revelator suggested..."Paul, one cannot have a testimony without a test, or a message without a mess. When a person feels he has 'arrived' and reached vital perfection, growth becomes stunted. The Church is in ongoing change, from Glory to Glory, one level of godliness to another, in spirit, soul, body and ministry. After all, the disciples and apostles didn't begin raising the dead and facilitating signs and wonders after reciting the sinner's prayer. A progression of submission, yieldedness and empowerment was much involved in the success of these imperfect men and women. Their righteousness and sufficiency were of Me. No man can ever rightfully boast in his own ability. When this precious servant enters a difficult situation not yet encountered in personal life, he will become confused and helpless. In fact, there may be a tendency to judge. That's precisely why I have instructed the Christian to rejoice in adversity; for no weapon of oppression can withstand the Anointing, that law of the spirit of life in Christ."

Give me a person with experience, as opposed to one with only an opinion, any day of the week. Opinions are like noses. Everybody has one! Let me take a little side trip here. Be cautious about sharing your dreams, visions and unveilings with just anyone for confirmation. Remember, some will undoubtedly interpret from personal perceptions and orientations, unless totally sold out to Heaven and operating under a special Unction. Trust the Word and inner-witness of the Holy Spirit. If what you've received is sustained, glorifies Christ, agrees with Covenant and looks foolish to the world, the revelation is likely right on! God wants us to know, and seek, His Voice!

Let's briefly look at Judas Iscariot. When his name is mentioned, most of us are repulsed at what he did. Betraying the Master didn't qualify him for the Who's Who Hall of Fame.

Has there been a Judas in your life? Did the impact of that relationship result in an unspeakable internal wounding? Jesus knows what you've gone through. He, too, was misunderstood, accused, judged. Not until the Spirit of Truth arrived on the Day of Pentecost could there be a faith acceptance and comprehension.

I have personally been hurt by some of the best. Often giving others what we personally desire, many are setting themselves up for natural disappointment, as man, without Christ and His Lordship, can never begin to measure up to what are sometimes unreasonable expectations of reciprocity from flesh and blood. This writer can count on one, maybe two hands, those soul-impacting moments of sensitivity to Dad, when people were obedient in blessing me.

There are seasons when we desire too much from the wrong individuals. Our expectancy must always be from God. Never for moment will He let us down. In fact, the Father knows exactly what it will take to blow us over with the Glory. We've affixed our eyes in the wrong direction for affirmation, validation and love. Instead, the Throne Room has issued a call to "look up!"

Judas assisted in the fulfillment of prophecy, leading up to Christ's resurrection and ascension. But his contrary endeavors were unfruitful. In the wake of everything hell threw at the Redeemer, He couldn't be swayed from the pathway of Love.

Judas' behavior had it's origin in the realm of darkness, and likely strengthened the Savior's resolve. Man needs to be saved from himself. The betrayer's end spoke volumes about the satanic force behind this victim's deception. Christ's attention was invariably on the Father's heart. Without Glory's Guidance, He, too, would have been at a loss, not unlike the Church, if Jesus had refused the Holy Spirit's comfort and mandate.

How can we contemporize this? The spirit of Judas, a consequence of the fall, is inherent in natural man. We've all been betrayed at one time or another, particularly during those perceived weak seasons in life. Some of us have been the betrayers!

There's an old saying..."Success has many fathers. But failure's an orphan." Without the Holy Spirit, all men are deceived. Living the lower life, outside of Covenant, will cause most to seek the beggarly elements of this world, the perishable and sometimes intangible, at the expense of the eternal.

When hurt by others, in a way, they have done more for us than most friends. In that temporary pain, we are pointed toward the cross, through which all must be directed, from sin to the resounding testimony of success. Calvary presents remedy and deserves full credit for any, and all, victories. Never lose sight of this fact. For the Judas Iscariots in our walk, the greatest defense is massive success. On top of that, God, Himself, has promised to vindicate the Family, as Believers go about their Father's business. He'll part seas and suspend the very laws of nature, when necessary, to benefit the oppressed. Pray for those enemies! Heaven has mandated just that. In essence, as Jesus said from the cross..."They are ignorant of their behavior."

Panic!

"Never has there been such an era in history when the powers of darkness have been this agitated and fretful. I cannot emphasize the following fact strongly enough. Hell knows your name! Satan is the author of lies, simply because the truth doesn't dwell in him. Always remember, a fatal flaw remains inherent in each plan and launching from the arsenals of destruction. Such was the case during the Savior's crucifixion. Had the adversary realized he was sealing his own fate, there would have been second thoughts over the strategy that shook the very bowels of hell and forever settled the Body's redemption. Ponder those occasions in life when there was a sense of being overcome by abandonment, rejection, false accusations, guilt, shame, unfairness, moments of letdown by people in whom you trusted. Think it not strange. A delay is not a denial. The fiery trial of the Father's faith, a gift to the Bride, residing on the inside of that precious Vessel, is merely a testing. Listen to this fact! You aren't watching over the Word, those promises, for purposes of performance and manifestation. I Am! We are in serious Covenant together. No revelation from Me is void of the Power necessary for bringing itself to pass. Consider your school years. Were you in charge of your own promotion? Who led the classroom? Was it the student's assignment to prepare the graduation hall in honor of self? Surely not! Tests and pop quizzes, homework and attendance, so much indicative of the Believer's walk in Christ, determined grade and passage, not unlike the Children of Israel's obedience, yieldedness and effectiveness in crossing the Red Sea and performing exploits. Hell knows your name! Nonetheless, the adversary cannot enjoy exact knowledge of the Beloved's call, since he fails recognition of revelation. One doesn't have to be a rocket scientist in realizing that Satan's visible defeat relies on the Family plugging into the Throne Room, standing, and walking in the Spirit. Meditate on this portion of the Word...Psalm 91, pertaining to dashing one's foot against a stone. There's a spiritual and literal intent behind this component of the Contract. The Spirit-led life is marked by protection and provision. I Am talking about Heaven's great salvation, a place in Me where the Standby will move you around obstacles, seen and unseen, in utter darkness, when necessary. The closest parallel involves the guidance system within the most sophisticated of aviational crafts. They, too, are to avoid even the smallest of hindrances. Aerodynamically, these worldly devices are designed to go with the air flow, thus increasing their speed and overall effectiveness. The automobile industry has learned much from this streamlining process. Hell knows your name, as it does Mine. Being a Member of the Body, Glory's DNA flows through your veins. Beyond that, darkness smells you coming. The greater Our manifestations, the more Satan and his cohorts will be publicly revealed and humiliated. The only part of the devil you're to see is his backside! Your Father's Glory to Glory progression is ongoing. Champion that Word, Heaven's dreams and visions, and watch Me perform!"
