From the Desk of Doctor Paul ...I have walked with the Lord for years, without knowing much about the Blood, would often hear others, both in and outside the church, exclaim, "I plead the Blood!" In my heart, there was a knowledge that something powerful was occurring, when they did that. Those people knew what they were doing. But, I failed to recognize what pleading the Blood actually meant.
Why wasn't a connection made, based upon a general realization that the American Indian's life is based around blood covenants? They frequently cut agreements, in that fashion. But, when I did finally recognize that the Father, via the Blood of Jesus, had covenanted Himself to us, a giant light illuminated on the inside of my spirit. At that point, there was no question about the matter. I knew what those fellow believers were talking about.
The enemy has to respect the Blood. When you say, "I plead the Blood of Jesus in this situation," that's the Blood by which the covenant was ratified. And, the devil cannot touch it. There's protection in the Blood! There's deliverance in that Blood!
While in Illinois, with a friend, I will never forget entering the nursing home room of a precious soul who had been tormented for days, as a result of demonic oppression. Her head was moving from one side of the pillow, to the other, in absolute torment. Sleep had not been experienced in days. There was an indescribable sense of evil and darkness in that space. In the natural, the two of us were no match for what was going on in there. We immediately began to intercede, while pleading the Blood of Christ. Within moments, the very atmosphere changed, supercharged by the Holy Spirit's presence. Instantly, the elderly lady's face began to literally glow. Torment ceased. Jesus had not only entered the room, but that marvelous woman's heart, as well. After a short time, she declared, "You may go now. I will be just fine." Shortly thereafter, Heaven welcomed home one of its newest citizens! Her funeral was a celebration of life and witness to many!
As the Blood is pled, one has laid down his case, placing full confidence on an oath that is covenant-sworn by Almighty God.
When Jesus took the communion cup in the upper room, He said, "Take this and drink it. This is the New Covenant in My Blood, ratified for you."
The Blood renders certain guarantees. It promises that every word in the Bible is a Blood-sworn oath, which is actually an anchor for your soul. It becomes the Christian's inner strength. God is your Father, and Jesus is your Blood Brother! Everything that's His is yours, and all that's yours is His.
To be fearful of acting or speaking, before you can see or feel something, is to doubt Daddy's sworn oath, the very Name of Jesus, and the Blood of the Lamb.
Jesus' shed Blood obliterated your sins on the cross. When you received Christ as Lord and Savior, a place was assumed in your part of the New Covenant, while activating total freedom from darkness. Every time a believer repents of sin, it is destroyed, obliterated, forever. A cleansing instantly takes place. That is why we can walk free of condemnation.
If the devil accuses you, don't permit guilt to enter. Guilt doesn't belong to God's children. It isn't yours. In reality, you have been set free!! When feeling as if you have been placed in front of a judge, and he asks, "How do you plead?" say, "I plead the Blood of Jesus!!" His retort will be..."Innocent of all charges!"
